Sound the alarm for South Hemphill Heights, Jennings-May-St. Louis, Morningside, Fairmount, Ryan Place, and all other neighborhoods in Ft. Worth

(old news)

URGENT!! Your participation is needed on Tuesday February 2, @ 7 PM, Fort Worth Municipal Building ("City Hall") - 1000 Throckmorton, to tell the City Council that you oppose dangerous toxic gas wells in your neighborhood.  Bring everyone you can to fill up city council chambers and don't forget to fill out a card to vote AGAINST whether you speak or not.  Each person gets up to 3 minutes each to speak, sometimes more.  Don't just roll over and let this happen without objection. THIS MAY BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE... IF THIS PERMIT GETS APPROVED FEBRUARY 2, IT COULD BE OVER AND YOU LOSE!  You should also attempt to contact your politicians as quickly as possible to let them know you OPPOSE THE AWARDING OF THIS WELL PERMIT AND ANY FUTURE WELLS FROM BEING DRILLED UNTIL YOU'VE HAD MORE TIME TO BE FULLY INFORMED OF THE NEGATIVES BEING IMPOSED ON OUR NEIGHBORHOODS

If YOU don't stop them, the city council will be granting a 'variance,' (as they've been doing all over town like wildfire), which says to XTO, "We know you don't meet the rules of our gas drilling ordinance, but we'll overlook that and give you a permit anyway, even as the dangerous gas wells are located < 600 ft. from an elementary school....cause it's all about the money, and money is more important than these particular kids at Daggett Montessori, Daggett Elementary, and the little ones who live right across the street (literally) from the gas wells."

What good are the rules if they're never enforced? You might as well tear up the gas drilling ordinance altogether.  Putting toxic, potentially explosive gas wells <600 ft. from homes and schools is risky, but your city council is willing to risk it because THEY don't have kids nearby. The Southlake, TX ordinance requires 1000 ft. clearance. Is Southlake smarter than Ft. Worth? Are the lives of the children in Southlake worth more than in Ft. Worth?  The Ft. Worth city council, if asked, would of course say 'no,' but actions speak louder than words.

THE CITY EMPLOYEES AND CITY COUNCIL, CLEARLY BIASED ON THE SIDE OF THE GAS COMPANIES, WOULD RATHER YOU NOT NOTICE WHAT THEY'RE DOING AS THEY GRANT THESE 'VARIANCES,' BUT YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW

CLICK HERE for city council member contact information. Tell them to stop this nonsensical, irresponsible, and risky behavior.

*IMPORTANT - Return to this web site in case the hearing date changes due to community concerns*

VIDEO: CANCER CAUSING TOXIN FOUND IN AIR NEAR GAS FACILITIES

Benzine can cause Leukemia (Cancer)

"No one has a clue what's coming out of them (the gas wells) - That's irresponsible"
See Environmental Engineer Dr. Al Armendarez talk about how our leaders are asleep on the job
"What really happened here was the field got developed, and then everyone got involved. It was really backwards."

Accepting a gas well in your neighorhood puts the poisonous toxins closest to YOU, but could be bad for ALL of Ft. Worth, yet gas wells are all over town. How could this happen? Plus, you could have noisy trucks transporting toxic water, rolling down your street all day and night, one well after another. So who is looking out for YOU? The politicians won't stop this until YOU make ENOUGH noise!

TCU  residents said "NO, not in our neighborhood"

Fairmount residents said "NO, not in our neighborhood"

Ryan Place residents said "NO, not in our neighborhood"

Roanake residents said "NO, not in our neighborhood"

Rosemont residents are TRYING to say "NO, not in our neighborhood" but no one is listening. (Rosemont isn't made up of rich people.)

So why should we say "YES?"

Answer: We shouldn't!

JUST SAY "NO" LIKE OTHER NEIGHBORHOODS HAVE!

Aren't the dangers of rural gas well drilling known by the industry and members of our city government? Wouldn't common sense dictate that when they hurriedly approved and brought thousands of wells into the city, they were also importing those same hazards here? These issues have NOT been adequately addressed. And they're still granting 'variances' and permits every week AS IF everything is fine.

"There is no safe level for many of these chemicals"

The sample revealed a level of 1,100 parts per billion of benzene. "That would be equivalent to opening up a can of gasoline and holding it up under your nose"
